"An appraisal was conducted in 1996 and stated that the cuff links are 14KT white gold with a 0.05ct full-cut round brilliant diamond in each. The matching shirt pins contain a single 0.02ct single cut diamond in each. When I received the set I noticed that two of the shirt pins are signed JABEL. I inherited the set from my aunt, and it originally belonged to her great-grandfather, Michael Bechik of Minnesota."

Jabel History

The cuff links are most likely our CF29 which dates back to about 1955 or 1956. Unfortunately there is no information concerning the shirt pins, but it was most likely from the same era. There is tie tack style #TK10, which looks smaller to the cuff links, that the pins may have been based on but there are no style numbers available for the pin. It was a common practice to make the pins and tie tacks smaller than the cuff links. The idea behind making an entire set was most likely that the cuff links & shirt pins were for formal wear whereas the cuff links an tie tack were semi-formal or business wear. The tie tack alone is both ornamental and practical; it not only embellishes the necktie but keeps it out of your food & drink.Danny's cuff links and shirt pin are unique in that they are stamped 14KW which Jabel no longer uses. Two possible reasons for this are first, the pieces were made before the change to almost exclusively 18KW or it could be that the backs are 14K and the tops 18K. When two metals are used the piece is stamped in the lower karat. While men's jewelry is no longer a large division of the Jabel line, we continue to offer a selection of Gent's Rings as well as a full line of seamless wedding bands that can be produced in men's sizes.
