The most stunning person on the red carpet last night was, in my opinion, was Cate Blanchett. Her gold, sparkly Giorgio Armani gown ended up matching her award. Cate won the best actress in a leading role for the movie Blue Jasmine. When I saw her sparkling on the television I could not figure out the top of the dress. It looks to be some sort of "mock turtleneck", and because she could not wear a necklace, she paired this gown with a large pair of earrings. They can be seen better below. I am not sure if they are pearls or diamonds, but what I do know, is that they look perfect.
My second favorite is the other big winner last night, Lupita Nyong'o. She said the color of her dress was "pale blue" though it definitely hints of Pantone's "placid blue,' which many fashion designers are using for color pallets this spring. I love her look, but I am a little unsure about her headband. The only reason I am not completely objecting is because it is made of gold and diamonds! While it looks a little youthful and bridal, I would not object to wearing it! Her diamond cluster earrings sparkled vividly on the red carpet.
Third: Amy Adams, Look at that color!
Fourth: Naomi Watts. Look at her shoes!
Fifth: Sandra Bullock, another bold blue!
