Do you ever see your engagement ring on a website and think, 'why doesn't mine sparkle like that anymore'? Well, it's probably because it's dirty! We use our hands for everything, and even though we wash them constantly, the hand wash is cleaning your hands, but it's probably not cleaning your rings.Every time you wash your hands, clean vegetables, or even use hand sanitizer: layers of soap scum or chemicals might be covering your diamond. In order to get that dirt and grime off we always recommend to do regular professional cleanings, but in between here are some steps I take to keep my ring clean:1. Turn the kitchen sink on HOT. Put it up as hot as it can go. Make sure you cover the drain with a protective cover and/or a net of some sort so that your rings don't end up in the drain!

2. Using your hand, or if the water is too hot, use tweezers (any tweezers will do), and hold each side of the diamond under the water for 4-5 seconds.

3. Let the ring air dry in a safe surface. Then use the polish cloth (shammy) in your sunglasses case to get rid of any watermarks.
4. Your ring should look as sparkly as the day you got it!
