This is way too good not to write about. Last week, (Tuesday, 10/15) Kris Humphries finally parted with Kim K's infamous 16.5 carat emerald cut engagement ring, which had a pair of 2 carat trapezoids on each side. Supposedly, Humphries paid 2 million for the ring. He sold it at Christie's for $749,000. I keep thinking about the timing on this. Kris made an appearance about a month ago on Fox's The Mindy Project and probably strategically sold the ring to get himself back into the press. (Side note: if you want to talk about how amazing the episode was, please email me, Liza@jabel.com) Kris and his publicist, talent agency, whatever, had all these events planned out so that the face of Kris Humphries wouldn't die in the media when his divorce to Kim K finally ended after a SEVEN month divorce battle. THEN BAM! Last night Kanye smashed all chatter of Humphries and proposed to Kim K with a SMALLER RING. The ring is made by the same designer, Lorraine Schwartz, but Kanye's is a supposed 15 Carats vs Kris's 16.5. Kim (@kimkardashian) posted the photo on the top of the page today, saying "YES!!!". Please note she is saying 'YES!!!' to the incorrectly spelled: "PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!". I gather the following information from that statement: 1. Kim and Kanye both like to use 3 exclamation marks. Maybe because this is Kim's third engagement? 2. At least he can spell Marry right? and 3. Another Kardashian wedding? Fine with me. I'll definitely watch.As far as the difference in rings go: I cannot give my professional opinion with such an unclear photo, is it a cushion cut engagement ring? Does Kim still use her blackberry? I am unsure why the picture is so grainy. I will give you an update and better comparison when we get some professional photos of the new engagement ring!
