Whether you attended JCK Las Vegas and LUXURY or not, you can still use the show to your advantage:

  1. Trending JCK LUXURY sales are a preview of what top retailers are buying for this holiday season. Why is this important? Simple, these are the styles your customers will be seeing in advertisements, on TV, and in all the top showcases in the country. Make sure you have the supply for this season's supply and demand! Ask your vendors to send you their top sellers from the show and see which pieces fit your open-to-buy or can replace slow sellers in your showcases.
  2. Training Since vendors often pick up new retail accounts at JCK, they will often prepare training material to bring the sales staff up to speed. This is a great opportunity gear up for the holiday season by training new staff in your store and give your existing staff a refresher. Contact your vendors to see what training material they have available or if they can do in-store training.
  3. Timing The time between the closing of JCK and the start of the busy buying season is June. This is a great time to meet with your sales representatives since they have a lull in their schedules to really sit down and work up your holiday order. If you ask, many reps will allow you to write up your order and hold it till later in the year. This allows you to dedicate extra time in September and October to gather your co-op figures, plan your marketing campaigns, and finish up special projects before the big holiday push so you can focus on your customers in November and December.
